Our Contracts
Posted by matt at about 3pm on Monday December 17, 2007This page has been on our site for some time, but we thought it would be good to update it and put it back up front-- especially in light of the excellent discussion going on on our "Map of Our Supply Chain" story.
Our adherence to international Fair Trade standards is audited by our organic certifier Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA). However, to keep you all totally in the loop, we post all of our contracts, organic certifications, etc. on our importing co-op's (Cooperative Coffees) website for you to peruse.
Please feel free to check them out here.
There are 4 types of documents featured in this section: Contracts (CON), Invoices (INV), Bills of Lading (BOL), and Organic Certifications (ORG). These can be a little confusing, so here is a brief run-down of what they are all about.
Cap Times Article on JC
Posted by matt at about 10am on Friday November 9, 2007Here is an article on JC that was in the Madison Capital Times recently.
It was written by our friend Lynn Welch.
Check it out and see what you think. It is very cool to get the first feature article written about us in a Madison daily in our five year existence.
Thanks to everyone who have made our first five years a success.
Looking for help with seed sorting in Madison
Posted by colleen at about 1am on Thursday August 9, 2007I received the following very generous email from Mr. Emmett Schulte in Madison. He has many seeds that are available to be donated to the East Timor Seed Project but just needs someone who is willing to sort them (to eliminate most flowers and hybrids, only mailing the fruits, vegetables, and herbs), box them, and mail them to me in East Timor. I must admit it does take some time, but it is also a lot of fun and you may be able to skim a few seeds for your own personal garden as payment for your time.

Fair Trade University "Curriculum"
Posted by matt at about 9am on Tuesday January 16, 2007As the first of April gets closer, we are in the process of getting our ducks in a row for the Fair Trade University (FTU) program in Santa Anita, Guatemala. We do not have the cost of the trip nailed down yet, although this should happen soon. We are not "officially" signing people up yet, but we have had a lot of initial interest. Spots will be givien "first come, first serve" with a total of 8-10 available.
Please check back periodically, we should have all info available by February 1st.
In the meantime, please click the story headline above to check out how the FTU program has shaped up thus far. Suggestions are welcome...
